That is a down from 211,000 the week before.
In terms of continuing claims, we see 1,841,000.
That's up from 1,816,000 the week before.
Basically, what we can say is there's just no change in the jobless claims numbers or the continuing claims numbers, basically, as the low-hire, low-fire economy continues.
You certainly ask interesting questions.
60,620 job cuts announced in the month of March.
Now that is down 78% from the same month a year ago.
If you look industry by industry, technology getting whacked, 18,720 jobs announced to be cut in March, a total of 52,050 for the year so far.
The next biggest is pharmaceutical, and that's only 6,348 for the year so far.
52.7 for the month of March.
That is up from 52.4 in February.
The one everybody's been waiting for, prices paid, is at 78.3, up from 70.5.
That's the highest since 2022.
So a huge jump in the prices paid numbers.
They said they found 62,000 private sector jobs, which is better than was forecast for them, but lower than the survey we have for Friday's private sector jobs of 75,000.
