Yes, I mean, the one question you have when a young guy kind of goes to the minor leagues, how are the throws, especially with his arm, right?
If you look back at O'Neal Cruz, most of his errors early on were from his throws.
Connor Griffin has a similar arm.
He's a 90-plus across the diamond every single time.
He's going to hit 100.
He could off the mound as well.
I thought he was always going to be a center fielder because of the speed, because of the athleticism.
He reminded me of Drew Stubbs with maybe even a little bit more athleticism in center field.
But the reality of it is he's proven me wrong and everybody else that was an evaluator of him at 17 of how good he is at shortstop.
And it's because he can make the fundamental play consistently, but then he gets the balls most guys don't.
So while Bobby Witt last night did the things he did, that's what Connor Griffey could do on a daily basis.
He's going to do things that are unprecedented, but the throws have been on the mark.
And that's the most remarkable thing to me.
You know, I don't mind the struggle in spring.
He's not swinging outside the zone.
He's hitting the balls in the zone, which is an improvement.
The biggest thing for me is we look back to last spring, he went off.
And then he didn't start off well the last two springs, actually.
So I think he's really buying in that it's his time to shine.
He's really using the spring training time to get at bats to really understand what's the approach I want to take and to get out of his own way.
