But we have to face the fact that we, the American people, had our military and our CIA oversee the murder of innocent civilians.

I mean, it's a shocking thing.

I'm not sure they had alternatives, but it's still a horrible thing to contemplate.

And our Marines that we interviewed had to stand there and watch and do nothing.

So they're they finally clear the airport and then they're outside the gates.

And everyone remembers, I think, the footage of them outside these gates, struggling to get in.

You can see it even in the teaser.

They're they're they're pushing, pushing, pushing.

They're throwing babies.

I mean, it's like a hellscape, as we say.

And the Marines at the gates have a life and death decision to make about people, and they are haunted by that.

So and one uh a clearest example, I think, is that.

People come in at the airport and the State Department says, Well, you can admit people with US passports and special immigrant visas, but not their families.

So young Marines, eighteen, nineteen, twenty-year-old Marines are ushering women and children out of the gate back out where the Taliban will kill them.

And the next day the State Department says, Well, oops, now you can families can go too.

So these Marines think we had these people killed and the next day they're okay.

So this is what's called moral injury, a term you are probably familiar with, Steve, but I was not.
