Well, it's like the question, right?
This is the thing everybody wonders about.
And like you say, it's something people have been discussing and debating since Plato and Socrates and Aristotle.
So it's one of the big questions.
And those are the things that really fascinate me.
Yeah.
Yeah, that's right.
And, and people often have a lot of misconceptions about the kinds of things that'll be good for them.
And, and that's part of why often people aren't as happy as they'd like to be is they, they're just pursuing the wrong things.
Um, you know, famously, like people think, you know, if I just had more money, then I would be happier.
And, and all the research shows, yeah, like if you're poor and if you are having a, you know, if you're struggling, then money is really important.
But then once you get past a certain threshold, it's like, nah, it kind of doesn't make a difference anymore.
But you know,
Try to convince people of that.
It's hard to get them to figure that one out.
Well, so in this particular pair of studies, we were looking at three virtues.
And there's some prior work on the relationship between virtue and well-being that suggests that virtue is good for you.

Basically, the more people are kind and generous, the better they tend to be in terms of happier and better well-being.
But you might think that there are some virtues that aren't that way, right?
