So today was supposed to be the day that Trump's acting Attorney General, Todd Blanch, would pass a key committee vote.
A major hurdle on his path to locking down that permanent Attorney General gig.
Well...
That did not happen.
For more than a month now, Blanche has faced resistance from two key Republican senators who sit on the Judiciary Committee, Senator John Cornyn of Texas and Senator Tom Tillis of North Carolina.
Both of them have been demanding that Blanche put pen to paper
and formally kill the deals he cut with Trump that would create a $1.8 billion slush fund for Trump's allies, and to formally kill aspects of the deal that would give Trump and members of his family immunity from IRS audits.
For Blanche's nomination to make it out of the Senate Judiciary Committee, he needs both Cornyn and Tillis' vote.
As of today, it appears he still does not have them.
