But in most cases, there's guys making a good bit of money to start their future careers.

I think the problem happens when guys don't realize that how short the career is and the fact that you go through a catastrophic, you know, dial loss or loss of income.

And at the same time, you mix that catastrophic loss of income with the fact that the profession you've been crafting yourself to do your whole life, you know,

you can no longer do for money after two and a half years.

And that's a really interesting point that I touched on because if you told me before I was going to med school as a doctor that I could only practice medicine for two and a half years and then my skills would all be useless and outdated, and that is what the reality is of my profession as a doctor,

med school.

So I think that when you really put it into a real perspective,

You know, sports is a career that you're going to do for a few years, and you'll never be able to make money doing what you've practiced doing your whole life.

So you have to come into it thinking about what are my next steps.

I think it's a reality check.

It's a huge reality check, you know, realizing that, you know, everybody, you know, you have a certain status and you have a certain following based on, you know, something that you, you know, did and excelled at.

And when you lose your ability to do that, the following goes along with it.

It's the kind of nature of these.

I think it's hard for guys to really get a grasp of until it happens, until you're done playing your last football game,

and you're pretty much starting back at level one of, hey, now what will I do with the rest of my life?

So I think it's hard to grasp, and I think you can't virtually prepare for it.

You always have to go through

I think that an athlete has to really look out for getting involved in things that he is not expending his capital.
