Sean, the capital gains tax debate continues to bubble along with growing expectations that the federal government in the May 12 budget will scrap the standard 50% CGT discount, which was introduced back in 1999, and shift to a model that was introduced under the Keating government, whereby the discount is reduced by the rate of inflation.
It's known as an inflation-based discount.
