Look at how Miami-Dade County does it.

Miami-Dade County does 12-year extensions, massive redevelopments of this entire wing of the retail part of their airport.

My client would welcome that in a heartbeat.

and would put up its own money to get us there.

So with that, I want to say that we support staff's recommendation for the three-year extension.

The FAA agreed and said, we'll give you two years, but it'll be a one-year plus 12 one-month renewals, which is what we are in right now.

So I'm supportive of the item.

And I think Senator Geller made a good point.

And all the points were good.

I think Josh Freeman's comments were spot on, and they were on point.

But at the end of the day, the procurement would take two to three years anyway.

It's just a minimum annual guarantee.

If there's more business there, more dollars will flow back to the county.

And I don't think you can continue to ask partners to come into our airport, our port, our convention center, expend capital dollars, and then cut them off at different times.

This is something that the FAA approved.

They should have gotten a while ago.

I think it should be approved now.
