I wouldn't have any kind of, you know, notable career.

Maybe no career at all if I had stopped playing gay.

Because I was playing gay...

Before I came out, you know, like even when I was in the closet, you know, like they could see it and they were still casting me that way.

So, you know, it's not like Ugly Betty was the first gay role I played.

Anyway, even when I was playing roles that weren't specifically gay, they weren't like, I certainly wasn't playing macho guys or, you know,

Guys whose problem was the woman.

I was playing guys whose problem was something else.

But I was doing a play.
