There can't be a legal standard in which what it means to be or be qualified to be a good public official, a good member of our armed services, a good citizen equates to a.
being a good standing member of a particular religious tradition.
And that's vital for the integrity of the institutions, but also for the integrity of our religious communities.
It's been very important not to conflate what it means to be a good citizen with what it means to be a good Lutheran or Catholic.
