I agree with Chair DiGiorgio and Mayor Hardin.

And while I understand much of what Commissioner Casillo is saying, it isn't a knee-jerk reaction.

It's been a very educated and long process as we've been talking about affordable housing and the housing issues that we've been having.

it hasn't just come up in a month it's been coming up for years this council has been dealing with it our communities have been dealing with it and then to have what it comes down to somebody from above telling us that we don't know how to do things down south

anywhere

in our in our state and saying that the commission and the politics down in the local levels do not know their people and then to say to their people you have no right to say a word

are they actually favoring it sounds like they're favoring more of a developer

then they're favoring actually the people who are to benefit, which would be the city and the community and everybody who would be moving in.

And a lot other comments I have to say.

So at this point, I would just say my knee-jerk reaction, please don't take it as that.

It is a very frustrated, annoyed, aggravated reaction to where we try and try and try, and yet it seems that we're not heard.

And instead of getting to center where we need to be to get it to be a smart, actual program that will work for everybody,

It's, again, that pendulum swinging all the way somewhere else that we have to spend all this wasted time trying to fight to get it back to where it should have been in the first place.
