So the Stage newspaper was a bi-weekly newspaper that listed all the auditions and what was happening in the industry.

I remember it said, do you want to be the next five or Spice Girls?

But actually, they came to Newcastle.

So I went along to the audition.

I had a song prepared.

I was going to sing Everything I Do, I Do It For You by Bryan Adams.

That was my go-to.

So in that moment, it didn't feel too weird.

There was a lot of production around, more than what I was used to, but it wasn't anything different.

So the thought of it being a big, massive TV show hadn't been on our horizon.
