You know, I mean, it's really kind of as simple as that.

We are really, really lucky the answer is no, because I mean, the corona is one thing, but also let's remember, I mean, we actually, our whole solar system is in this hot bubble of gas in the Milky Way galaxy.

Maybe there was a star that exploded here billions of years ago, but the temperature of the gas we're going through is in the millions of degrees in our galaxy.

The thing is, the gas between the stars is so thin.

It's like, OK, there goes there goes a proton.

You know, there goes an electron.

You know, I mean, there's so few particles that it doesn't really impart any heat to you.

I mean, yes, the average speed of these high energy particles is equivalent to being, you know, millions of degree gas.

And just like Neil said, so the sun's corona is this extended atmosphere of very hot gas.

We have a spacecraft.

NASA has a spacecraft called the Parker Solar Probe.

that is orbiting well within this solar corona right now.

Wow.

You better believe it would not be alive returning data if it really felt like 500 degrees.

At 5 million degrees.

Yeah.

So the analogy we used to use is when you think about everybody who's done some baking, you get your oven up to 500 degrees.
