That's crazy.
And yeah, I mean, as amazing as the storm is,
It's at least fairly well understood as a very low-temperature jet stream.
I mean, you may be familiar here.
People kind of joke about, like, the weather's the same.
A week from now, the weather will be about the same as it is now.
There are patterns that get set up in the jet stream of the Earth.
And you take away all the heat and all the friction, and it forms this beautiful storm.
Wow.
It's something called a standing wave.
The jet stream basically sets up a wave inside this circulation.
And I will admit I'm not an atmospheric specialist, but that's what I know.
And that wave kind of makes this hexagonal shape.
And then you cool everything down without friction.
And that's how the whole thing works.
They have done computer simulations of
of very fast-moving jet streams under the conditions of Saturn, and you can get this sort of shape to set up.
Wow.
That's just right in our neighborhood.
It's just right there.
