Well, the piano became this kind of like...
A thing where I didn't have to ask for permission to make something.
It didn't cost any money.
Even the piano itself, the physical thing, was something that we got because when they came to take all our stuff in that apartment that we lost in France before we left, the bailiffs came and the only thing they didn't take was the piano because it was rental.
But then when we left, we found out that actually the rental company had gone bankrupt.
And so the piano just stuck with us.
And that's my piano.
That's the one I still have today where we are in the UK, for example.

The piano is sitting there in a little cottage, all beaten up and perfect.
So it was this kind of like this, this thing where I could build a landscape and I could tell stories and I could talk about sex.
And, you know, obviously not when I was like 15, 16 and 17 sensuality sex, I could bitch about my sister's.
You know, I could talk about my grandmother who was such a piece of work.
There's a song on my very first album that goes, I sit and think about the day that you're going to die.
Your wrinkled eyes betray the joy with which you smile.
