And so we've got an operation inside the organization, Science and Technology Group, and they sometimes change the name, but I still refer to it as S&T.

S&T over the years, really since they opened their doors, have been responsible for technologies that are just incredible.

And what happens is they develop it for an operational purpose.

Maybe they're trying to miniaturize a battery for a transmitter for communications purposes.

But that miniature battery now has ended up in pacemakers and defibrillators, right?

And they were at the cutting edge of that.

Or, you know, we needed better satellite imagery, right?

We started... Basically, the whole, you know...

effort for SIG and satellite imagery and other things started with S&T.

And now you can get out there and suddenly you have this earthquake in Venezuela.

What do we need?

We need immediate images of the destruction so we know where to send emergency response teams.

And you know what?

That came from the agency.

So now you can geomap.

Now you can, for environmental purposes, you do these.

So all this shit, I know I sound like I'm a member of the booster club,

But fuck it.

I mean, it is one of those amazing things that the agency doesn't get credit for is all the shit that they've done over the years from their engineers and all the incredible scientists that have worked there.

Again, developing gear, yeah, for some operational purposes, but it gets back out into the public and benefits everybody.
