So that's probably going to knock him all the way off the board for most Steelers fans who were chanting fire Tomlin.
But it is an interesting nugget nonetheless.
I'll give him an A-.
He's one of my leading candidates.
that's what i was hoping for yeah just there we go hey didn't mike tomlin just recently say on the rich eisen show that he was institutionalized so maybe they share that in common they both are big shawshank redemption fans wait what mike tomlin uh rich eisen asked him like oh could you ever do something are you gonna move on and he said like i'm institutionalized remember the line from shawshank redemption where they talked about how they'd been in

think it was a number of factors i i imagine that coaching in a city where they're chanting to fire tom when he realized that it was coming to an end one way or another but i agree with you in the sense that he seemed to me like the ultimate competitor that they were you know backed into a corner and with people chanting fire tom in his face he would want to fight his way out of it rather than looking for an escape hatch

you are poking around the long, like Tomlin is not going to leave and laughed at me for even suggesting it.
So I think he, I mean, I think he absolutely did leave on his own though.
I'm not putting on a tinfoil hat and saying he was forced out, but it is, I did not expect him to step down.
Well, so I was watching one of the games recently, the playoff game, and they said the Carolina Panthers have one of the biggest turnarounds defensively in NFL history.
They went from historically bad last year to halfway decent this year.

And so he both was in charge of this really bad defense and also this dramatic turnaround.
Now...
