It's a good feeling.
I like the fact that Jared Kelnick had a two-run double last night.
I like that the night before that Derrick guy, Derrick Hill, had a home run.
You're going to stop calling him that.
You're going to stop being disrespectful to Derrick Hill.
I got to look at that Derrick guy, the 30-year-old journeyman who's been on like six teams in the last seven years.
But those are the kind of guys that you do end up having on winning teams.
So I will give you that.
And I think you're right, Leland, that he's operating with this margin of error because let's be honest, this was about development for him in the first place, coming up as a major leaguer for the first time and just getting innings under his belt, helping the White Sox with the ultimate problem that they had last year, which is they didn't have pitchers to get enough outs for
to make games in which they scored five, six, seven runs stand up.
But now they can do that.
I think when he looks at the weapons he has at his disposal now, it's so different than it was in year one in which it took him, let's be honest, half a season just to get competent offense on the field.
When they called up Colson Montgomery after he had hit his reset, Chase Mydroth, you're looking at Kyle Teal, Edgar Carra, all those guys came up and gave them new life.
And now that life to me is epitomized by the play of Sam Antonacci.
Did you see the double that he hit?
Yeah.
Where I was like, that's a single, obviously.
And then you realize he's rounded first.
Full speed.
