Those are good programs.
They've now joined the Big Ten.
And then you get an Oklahoma, Texas, A&M.
They joined the SEC.
the problem is those conferences now are super conferences and now add the nil which takes non-traditional powers vandy indiana it makes them top 12 15 programs so my take is we thought the playoff would open the door for more out of conference big games but usc
which i'm pretty close to they looked at their schedule and they said we got indiana's a power we play oregon we play ohio state we play michigan and now we got to travel to these because we're not going to play no we're not going to play notre dame in november and so it's internet that's why i think notre dame is going to get trapped here pretty quick if you don't expand the college football playoff but when you if you were at if you got hired at a big dog
a michigan uh lsu lane kevin goes to lsu would you schedule with only a 12-team playoff now and two of those bids go to smaller schools would you play notre dame out of conference no way and i hear that with coaches sometimes see in the big 12 conference we played nine conference games for a long time yeah
So our administration, our fans wanted one big power five, used to be conference game, so I buy into that.
But essentially, you need a couple games that you can win.
You need to build confidence with your team.
You need to stay healthy.
So I can't speak for every coach, but you're asking me, and I'm saying I'm not playing those games because...
Every time I play a game like that, I exhaust my team.
There's always a chance to get a player hurt.
And if you lose, even though we're in a process now you can lose and still get in and play, you don't want to lose them because if you lose another one playing a really good team, it's going to be hard to make it in.
Yeah, I mean, if you look right now, if you look at the Big Ten, there's an argument the sixth best program is Washington, which has won national championships.
And every time they've had a really good coach, they've been a top six or seven program.
So the whole world has changed.
