players from the foreign policy community, they were really of the Cold War uniparty, if you will, right?

Warren Christopher, I would argue, was that Tony Lake and then later Sandy Berger on the national security side, I would argue, was that Al Gore as a vice president.

Remember, he was basically the Washington hand for the inexperienced Arkansan and Bill Clinton.
