Well, you should have told me I was following Lance because he knows more about pitching than I do and he has better hair than I do.
So that's kind of an unfair thing to make me follow up.
But I do like Soriano a lot for a couple of reasons.
I think he got a little bit overhyped early in the year when he had like a.24 ERA for the first six weeks.
Like obviously that wasn't gonna sustain.
Um I'm always, and this is maybe unfair to say, I always like guys with big arms who leave organizations that don't seem to get the most out of their players and the Angels.
Have not really been forward-facing in that regard.
Um, but I can tell you the two things I'm gonna be looking for uh are not gonna be his fastballs.
Number one, his curveball, which is one of the most effective curveballs in baseball.
As we've talked about recently, Stackcast can now measure the mistance, uh, the the miss distance, right?
How much does the bat miss the ball?
Uh and his curveball is a top five pitch in that regard.
When he gets misses, it's by like eight inches.
And that is phenomenal.
That's a really good pitch.
But the thing that's gonna set him apart, what I'm really interested in is.
Is watching for his splitter.
You know, he is not a guy who, he's not a Gaussman, right?
He's not fastball splitter.
He's got four or five good pitches.
