And it's so fascinating to me how completely different this is from last year where they had no starters.
I'm going to give you a little trivia fact because I looked this up this morning.
Last year, the pitcher for the Dodgers in October who threw the fifth most pitches for them was someone who just kept getting brought in to wear it.
That was Brent Honeywell, who is no longer in baseball.
And it's amazing how different things have been just a year from now.
Yeah, Sam Miller has been writing about this repeatedly over the course of the season, and he put out some numbers that were really incredible.
And the fact that this is so obviously well-known and pitchers still do this is kind of incredible to me.
I can give you an example.
We did one of the ESPN games over the summer where Tarek Skubal was pitching.
And he had thrown like 119 straight first pitch fastballs or something like that against Byron Buxton, who is one of the hitters most aggressive versus first pitch fastballs.
We made a whole meal out of the fact that he started them off with a changeup.
And afterwards we tried to get word to the Tigers and say like, Hey, like how did you get Scooble to not do this?
And they were like, yeah, we knew about it.
And we spent like an entire day with the pitching coach and the catcher trying to convince him not to throw a first pitch fastball because that's just what he's used to.
And he,
They didn't do it and it worked.
And I really that's going to be the number one thing I'm watching, I think, in every single postseason game for the rest of October is will that keep happening?
And will guys keep jumping on it?
Because it's wild to me that no one's changing this up yet.
