They didn't want a guy who was a project year one that maybe year two, year three he could turn on.
They wanted a guy who was ready tomorrow.
And to me in this class, that was Matsur Dilan.
Yeah, I mean, to get pick 32 to turn into what looks like a quality starting tackle is just an extreme rarity.
I mean, just go out and look at the best 10 offensive tackles that both left and right tackle right now in the NFL.
you probably have five or fewer that were drafted at 32 or later.
And it looks like Josh Simmons is about to be one of those.
It is just a position where it is difficult to find outside of the top 10 to 15 picks historically.
And to find that guy at pick 32, yeah, that's why it's one of the best.
And, again, this is kind of even hedging.
He could even be higher than this.
If his career arc keeps pointing upwards and he really does stay healthy throughout his rookie contract because, you know, Chiefs fans know pick 31, pick 32.
They've had a difficult time with those picks.
You know, FAU, Clyde Edwards, Hilaire, they rank a lot lower than Josh Simmons did at that position in the draft.
Yeah, I had him right up there just from a pure on-field tape grade with Kelvin Banks, Armand Membu.
Now, I still prefer those guys a touch because I think they're a little bit more physically imposing, a little bit more in the running game.
But Josh Simmons, the way he moves, you just saw – you just, like, knew that guy could pass the check at the NFL level.
There is just a way to use your hands and feet in unison, a coordination that is uncoachable that he obviously had.
And it's just –
you know, was he post a pretty bad injury for a 300-pounder?
