I mean, in orders of magnitude of a Kickstarter probably matter.
But generally speaking, I don't think you can look at something and say, oh, it absolutely was a smash success or it wasn't.
So and also the actual business of RPGs is largely opaque.
No one's going to open their books.
I mean, aside from Fred Hicks, Fred Hicks over at Evil Hat shows his numbers on everything.
And generally speaking, companies are not doing that.
So we don't really have access to understand the business of it.
And even then, even in the case of like Fred Hicks.
I would read his numbers, and I would still ask him whether or not he thinks it was commercially successful or not, right?
Like, I wouldn't know that just reading his numbers alone would tell me more about what was going on.
So I think we can basically have a guess on the order of magnitude of a business success.
But generally speaking, I'm worried about the success from the point of view of a game master.
So what are my criteria, right?
First of all, I ask you, think about what criteria you have.
How would you define success?
And how would you find openly visible data to help you define whether or not an RPG is successful or not?
