When you see Pete Hegseth talk, you know how bad he's lying by how passionate he gets, right?
The guy only tells the truth when it's close to a whisper and there's very little gesticulation.
That's when he's telling the truth.
This was one of those moments where he was clearly lying through his teeth about the
extraordinary gains of this war and the defeatism of the adversaries.
I mean, that rhetoric, Jennifer, it legitimately belongs in a 20th century autocracy.
It feels so weird in this moment to see people talk in those terms when they know it's not true.
This isn't any victory for anyone.
