Yeah, but I mean, it's been such an exciting, fun kind of journey, but I never thought that I would play a superhero, to be honest with you.
How did you get into it?
get into this film.
I had a meeting, I had a Zoom with Peter Safran, who's one of the studio heads, and he was telling me about this film Supergirl, and I was like, okay, this sounds exciting.
And how it was based off Tom King's Woman of Tomorrow.
And then a month later, they asked me to send in a self-tape.
But I was in Australia at the time, I was visiting my family in Oz.
So I sent this self-tape and then 10 days later I was flown out to Atlanta to do a screen test, which was a very long flight.
Australia is the furthest place you can be from anywhere else in the world that isn't New Zealand.
It's so far.
It's diabolically far, but I love it.
So I got a 24-hour flight to Atlanta, did the screen test.
And then eight days later, James Gunn sent me a WhatsApp to a Deadline article.
He didn't call me.
Oh, my God.
I was like, this feels like news that you call someone about.
This feels like, you know.
Yeah, like you're a super girl.
And then I just bought a bunch of really, really cheap champagne and just drank it.
That's the way to celebrate.
