Actually, in July, Mexican authorities announced the arrest of a man who they identified as the leader of a criminal cell linked to the
Jalisco New Generation cartel.
And they linked him to the murder of Marquez and also linked him to a murder of a mayor last year as well.
So that case seems to be coming together with criminal proceedings taking place there.
But in this case...

Interestingly, there have been at least 10 influencers killed in Sinaloa State since the term influencer came well known and understood.
Sinaloa State is an epicentre of violence, which is often linked to struggles between organised crime groups.
And Culiacan, where this happened, is very much a hotspot for it.
