It's really hard.

But it's been so nice because we've both been through a lot of different relationships and

And a lot of big journeys where we, we feel like now we're at this point in our lives where we actually really know what we need and what we want, and um, emotionally we're both like, we've done a lot of work on ourselves.

I just don't feel like I could have chosen, you know, the same kind of partner, you know, like I did in my twenties or something.

You know, I'm now like I just want to be with someone who's really kind and really thoughtful and considerate and actually just wants the best for me and wants to support me and there's no –

hidden agenda and there's no ego and we just, we have the language to talk to each other, like... I don't know, just evolved humans, you know.

There's something really to be said for meeting someone in your 40s, it's like, you've both sorted through a lot of shit and you just don't want any games anymore.

It's like, I actually don't, I don't want someone who's, you know, unhinged or...

emotionally unavailable or playing games it's just like i just i want someone who what you see is what you get and yeah there's no more um uh just emotional roller coasters i'm not i'm just not interested in that anymore

Yeah, and you're like, I've got kids.

I'm a parent to kids.

I don't want to be parenting my partner.

I want this person to be completely fully formed, very capable.

That was my huge thing going into a new relationship.

I was like, I don't want anybody that I have to –

um look after or manage or like because i felt so overwhelmed with with being a single mom i was like i actually don't have any capacity to be taking care of anyone else so like if you come into my life yeah you are taking care of yourself and we are walking side by side and supporting each other yeah where we obviously where we can but like you have to have your shit sorted out

I think it is down to all the amazing mums that played my CD to them in the car growing up.

But, yeah, I think it's kind of cool because we're in this age now where music is like it doesn't really have a timestamp because of TikTok and whatever.
