So the idea of psychosis, which is a medical issue, is a little different than the legal standard, but this is really important.
The legal standard is that Lindsay Clancy at the time of the killings did not know what she was doing was wrong or she could not control herself.
So what the defense focused on is leaning very heavily into their expert testimony about the manifestation of what's called auditory hallucinations, the commanding voice, and her loss of control.
And
It's gonna be battle of the experts, yes, because it's really you have experts coming to different conclusions.
But one thing was actually the same between the one of the prosecution's experts and a defense expert, and it's that idea of what's called altruistic philicide.
That committing the crime of killing the kids, killing the children.

In her mind, she believed they'd be better off she didn't want them to not have a mother.
Meanwhile, the distinction and look think just think about what the jury has to grapple with here is that
The defense says that she did not know what she was doing was morally wrong because she believed it was it was better for them to all be together.
Right.
Whereas the prosecution says, no, she knew what she was doing was wrong.
And you can tell by the other things that she did that day.
And and the thing and and trying to commit suicide after the fact.
So those are the competing narratives.
And this is why this case is so complex, because it's not a who-done it.
