Not just any Pope.
I mean, as if there's such thing as just any Pope, but the formative Catholic figure of the twenty first century, twentieth century.
There are two volumes directly on John Paul's desk and
Hans Erz von Balthazar was nominated cardinal by Pope John Paul II, and he writes the afterword to the edition of Meditations on the Tarot that I published.
But we as a culture, we cannot hear these things, we cannot receive these things, because they run so deeply counter to our ingrained notions that they don't penetrate.

And Tom Berg makes the case brilliantly in Meditations on the Tarot that there's nothing in

Egyptian concept that runs counter to church teaching.
And he uses each of the major trumps of the tarot as a kind of journey into what he calls Christian Hermeticism.
These are windows of symbol into the ancient world and how it marries to Catholic theology.
And so as above so below would this be that God creates man in his image?
