And this is a perfect example of like, he's trying to yet again, back the pockets of the private world

By impacting the public healthcare industry.

In Ontario.

And the investigations that look into this and the reports that come out about this are all around how they are intentionally defunding the public healthcare system to make it look bad, to incentivize and say, shouldn't we have a private healthcare system?

Shouldn't we be giving money?

Pay money because that will give you better health care all the while they've been slowly rolling back.

So I'm going to read off a couple of things that they've done.

Again, I wrote a lot of notes down for this just because it's like easier to keep track of what we're talking about.

But first, Bill 60.

It allowed private for-profit clinics to perform surgeries and diagnostic procedures covered by the Ontario Health Insurance Plan.

So step one, they're saying, okay, you know what?

Like these private clinics can start charging for this.

In 2019, Ford passes Bill 124, which then capped public sector wage increases, including nurses, at 1% per year.

And we all know we're about to go into like a massive inflation period.

So the wages of health care workers made stagnant while everyone's being screwed over by the inflation again.

And this like drove so many people out of health care because they're like, I can't.

Not only are these extremely stressful jobs that require so much of you when you're not getting paid enough, you start to wait, like, wait, like, what is the point of doing this?

The unions were arguing that this was intentional, like to push people out and mess up the public system.

The Ontario Supreme Court later struck down the bill as unconstitutional, forcing the government to pay billions in retroactive back pay.

And this will be a common theme in the things we talk about, where finally when the government steps in, you realize, oh, it was unconstitutional, it was wrong, and now they have to backtrack everything.
