A lot of them were like quote-unquote normal men, 54% of which were outwardly heterosexual.
They were married and living conventional suburban lives.

Which is like more than half of the men that he found and then interviewed had wives and were heterosexual.
Obviously, some percentage of these men, I think it was like only 14 or 17 or something, actually identified as like openly gay.
And they were coming here specifically.
Yeah, like somebody who's heterosexual.
In the 70s, it's easier for them to like, yeah, find other people who they can hook up with.
But I also think it's an interesting part of maybe even like cruising culture today for straight men who maybe actually aren't like, of course, this 54% probably includes closeted gay men at the time who had wives and families and work.
trying to fit the dorm or bisexual men or bisexual or men who were straight and just had like curiosities or like i don't know what's the line of somebody who wants to hook up with a man but then actually does want to be married for the rest of their lives to a man and i just think it's interesting to think about and i'm sure there are many men today who maybe don't see themselves as bisexual but would maybe have a few sexual experiences in their lives with men
