I completely agree.
I think of him as, I'm going to say it, it's going to sound derogatory, but it's not.
I think of him as a great philosophical literary man, which some people may say that's a derogatory thing where it sounds like a put-down, but I just mean that there's a tone and an intellectual quality to his considerations.
But I feel like his characters are often bumbling in humorous ways.
Yes, absolutely.
There's always a disjuncture between
The delusions of grandeur that his characters have versus how other people see them, that's definitely the case in Leaving the Atocha Station.
And it's very funny.
