So I would kind of push back on the idea that Liverpool suddenly become

historically bad in comparison to other people.

I think that they just kind of regress to the mean to a certain extent.

No, I do I d I do I think it is a good point.

I do think Liverpool got it right specifically with the the setup of how they wanted to do things.

The 'cause essentially all of this is you've got to have the sporting director, the manager and the recruitment team all on the same page.

I think what a lot of teams do wrong personally is that they do it in the wrong order.

So they try to have the sporting director as the man setting down all of the

plan and then he then uh feeds back to the recruitment team who try and find the players and then the manager's basically got it on his lap to deal with.

I think the way it has to go or the way it works when it goes

The manager starts with it.

The manager works out the tactics, the formation.

Then he goes to the recruitment team, said, Look, these are the kind, this is the kind of football I want.

Go find me some players who play this kind of football.

Great.

They go and do it.

Then the sporting director comes in and goes, You talk to the clubs of these footballers, get them into this club.

That's how it's supposed to work, in that order, if you ask me.

But where Liverpool have got
