manage to arrange their lives in such a way that they are personally insulated from much of the violence of patriarchy, right?

At least for now.

And then they work pretty hard at making other people more vulnerable as a way of like proving themselves to the end group, right?

Like I'm one of the good ones.

And I just want to know how often that works out in the end.

Because what I've seen is a lot of women who wind up getting really screwed over or humiliated in gender terms or hurt in gender terms.

I see a lot of gay people who think they can throw other gay people under the bus and then wind up getting sort of excluded by the straight mainstream.

And I see people like Lindsey Graham

who basically are never able to sort of like outrun their own shame who are never able to like come to grips with it and live with a degree of like honesty and self-respect and then who die because

without ever having gotten to a more honorable place.

I just don't think it works out for these guys.

I mean, I think like nobody would make these transactional surrenders to the forces of like patriarchy and homophobia if those transactions didn't come with real rewards.

That's why it's a betrayal is because they are getting something in exchange for their cooperation, for their like participation in hurting the rest of us.

I guess I can say for me, and maybe this is like Pollyanna-ish or naive, but those rewards that you get are not things that I want, you know?

I just think, I think you can have fun living a life that is centered around, you know, hanging out with Matt Gaetz and... Sounds great.

Getting a lot of like comments from like, you know, random stranger gay men on Instagram.

But when you lay your head down to sleep at night, I don't think if I was living that life for all kinds of reasons, I don't think I would be satisfied.

I think you wouldn't like it, Matt, because you're a person with a more expansive moral vision.

You have a soul is your problem.

That's why you can't understand these people.
