This is what I faced.
And I would hear their stories and I'd be like, oh my God, I forgot about some of this craziness, like some of these weird things that would happen.
And it just, yeah, it feels very empowering to hear their stories.
And I hope hearing mine empowers other people.
One of the things that stuck out the most in my mind when writing the book and reflecting back is all the moments when I felt like I was made to feel less than as what feels like a control tactic.
Like I was in England for work
And I was recovering from my accident still.
And I didn't feel up to doing my one more final commitment.
And I had already done every single other commitment.
And I had one more.
And I said, hey, I just can't.
Could you get somebody to fill in for me?
And they said, if you don't do it, you have to pay for your hotel tonight.
So they made me pay for my own hotel room on a work trip because I wouldn't fulfill one final thing when I was sick.
That for me was like, oh, I'm done.
That same phone call, I had answered the phone because the call came in from my assistant.
But when I answered it, it was the boss.
on my assistant's phone.
I don't know.
It's hard to not speculate that it was maybe intentional that he used my assistant's number instead of his own so that I would answer and be caught off guard to speak to him.
