Vance is headed home now without a ceasefire deal following marathon talks with Iranian officials in Pakistan.

Vance did not mention the Strait of Hormuz, but says Iran failed to commit that it wouldn't seek a nuclear weapon.

President Trump has yet to comment, but Pakistan says it remains cautiously optimistic that it can get both sides back to the negotiating table.

Meantime, two empty super tankers tried making their way through the Strait of Hormuz and into the Persian Gulf this morning, only to make a last-minute U-turn as peace talks broke down.

A third was sailing ahead and made its way through an Iranian-approved route in the region, but it's not currently signaling a clear destination.
