The people who are the most dangerous are the people who are voting their exact interests and don't care who it hurts.

And I think that's where we run afoul of, frankly, many cases that we've seen out here being prosecuted for more serious crimes of premeditation, as you mentioned, or even similar crimes with a white counterpart.

And so I think the conversation really has to be around why this keeps happening to Black boys, frankly, not men, boys, and what can be done about it.

who made it to kind of the final phase of the jury selection process, they were struck by the prosecution.

And the defense raised what's called a Batson challenge and put before the judge their belief that they were struck because of race.

And the prosecution offered by way of response that they were struck for what we call neutral reasons, that they were educators, that this involved witnesses who were going to be coaches, students in a school system.
