Yes, we crossed the Atlantic Ocean on a voyage that took us nearly two months, during which several ferocious storms nearly sank our ship.
But thanks be to God, we survived.
Then, after landing on American soil, we took another boat up a mighty river called the Mississippi.

The Indians call this river the father of all waters.
After traveling this river for many hours, we finally landed at a place called Kaskaskia, where our mission is located.

At first glance, the natives look quite fearsome as they paint their faces and wear feathers in their hair.
But in fact, they are the children of God, just as we are.
And today, many of these Indians are Catholics thanks to our forefathers in the society who braved everything to bring them the good news of Christ.
Even sometimes it's the cost of their lives.
