At what age?

At 21.

So I'd been dying to move out of home.

I love my parents, but I was dying to move out of home because I was doing three years of drama school full time and I couldn't afford it.

So I waited until then I got all that work with the silo and I was like,

I can get a flat.

And I got a flat.

And then, of course, I hadn't been able to think further enough ahead because my prefrontal cortex was still not fully developed.

And I ran out of work and was like, oh.

I think I was still working at Burger Fuel, it must have been.

I worked at Burger Fuel as my day job as much as I could, but it wasn't enough to make rent.

And also it was my first time out of any learning institution, any kind of, since I was, and I came out of a long relationship and was like, holy moly.

And had to, yeah, pull my shit together, refine myself.

Decided I wanted to go overseas.

I decided I'd always wanted to travel and then I noticed that I became more scared of that idea.

And then when all of that was stripped away from me, relationship, work, identity, it was a great thing.

moment to go actually I still I can do this I'm going to go travel the world on my own and so I guess I worked and worked or saved money I was on my own and had no dependents so I could do that and decided to make a one woman show merely out of necessity and the audacity of youth and was like oh well then I'll make a one woman show and then I don't need to pay other actors so I did that and to help fundraise to go overseas and then when I travelled I did that all over the place

So, yeah.

Yeah, and I sort of realised I could do it like that when I was travelling overseas because I went and stayed with Tom Sainsbury and Aidy Walker.

They were living in London, and I did that show in their living room for their friends.
