Now fast forward to like the beginning of your writing career, 15 manuscripts, like eight years of querying.
What did that teach you about the publishing industry?
What like after seeing rejections for these books that you've poured so much into, like what keeps you motivated?
What keeps you writing and passionate about wanting to be an author?
Yeah.
Now, one thing I found really interesting when I was reading about your story was the breakthrough of and I think you had mentioned because you were writing British historical or British historical stories.
What was that turning point of, like, going from writing what you thought maybe the market wanted to really finding, like, what you loved and what you wanted to write?
Like, how did you hit that point?
Now, if you could go back,
Would you want that like falling in love moment to happen like five years earlier?
Or do you think you needed that time to come into yourself?
Hmm.
regret it but i do wonder like would have been would i have been a different person yeah yeah yeah just the way the world works is so yes crazy sometimes like that now you had mentioned like when you when you had found like you want like the korean history like you had fallen in love with that and you didn't like find that there was many books about that
When it came to like writing your own stories then, was there like a gap you were trying to fill or was it more like better representation of the history that you wanted to achieve?
now on top of like the turning point of falling in love I read something on your website about another turning point you had had where you were on your phone and you were like you were writing down a scene frantically and your toddler had said mom like get off your phone what was that what did that shift about what your priorities were so for me
I connect so well with what you said about like, yes, it's more, but like we get to the end of our lives.
And I, those videos where it says like, oh, if you're on your phone, if your screen time is X amount per day, at the end of your life, this is how many days you spent on your phone.
And I go, that makes me ill.
