Like the user doesn't seem to notice or doesn't push back on the system.
That's the majority, by the way, 79% are invisible.
And we're able to, for the first time, really study what does it look like not taking a model and, you know, testing it in a lab somewhere, but what is actually happening now that these things are live and deployed and having millions of conversations a day.
So in this research, these hundred thousand transcripts and interactions that we analyzed.
We identified, we really focused on the failure modes and particularly what we call invisible failures, ones where the user didn't notice or didn't push back.
So the, you know, invisible means the product team really didn't notice.
Like there was nobody on the the product team that had a dashboard where it escalated or s or some alarm went off.
This is just something that happened in the room between the user and the AI.
And it's kind of, you know, a tree fell in the forest.
to help teams and users understand w what's happening here and why they're happening, we were able to identify seven common archetypes.
So these are patterns of how failures happen.
So confidence trap is one of them.
I'll list a couple others just to so silent mismatch.
The AI doesn't really understand what the user wanted, but kind of goes forward anyway.
Death spiral, and maybe you've had those.
You try 18 times to get something and you fail.
Walk away is user just abandons it or like dramatically reduces scope because they realize they can't get what they want.
And these aren't independent.
So you have confidence trap can lead to a death spiral, can lead to a walk away when the user ultimately doesn't get what they want, but they are distinct failure modes.
A lot of them have a capability component.
