They put a lot of emphasis on going to Ottawa and winning that first game back in early June.
Now they've carried over a good start into a good season.
I mean, we're no longer in the early part of the season.
we're you know we're seven games deep we're into the second third of the season and the yelks have continued on and i think kill him and his staff have done a great job preparing these guys week in and week out to play the way they have to play and and to me aiden it's it's just amazing how they find a way to win every game you know whether it's uh whether it's you know coming from behind whether it's leading wire to wire whether it's afternoon whether it's evening whether it's in the rain or in the sunshine whether it's in regulation or overtime they just keep finding
Just a belief, I think, more than anything.
I think the fresh start with the changes last year from president to general manager to head coach to the coaching staff to some of the players, I think that started it.
There's just a belief.
They really feel something building on this team this year, and I think it's been fun to watch, and I think it's going to continue.
And to me, that's the key.
They believe in themselves.
They know they can win any game they play.
They're 6-1, and I think that surprised a lot of people.
Who are the three teams going into the season that everyone had as the Grey Cup favorites?
They probably had Saskatchewan, the defending champions, Montreal, and probably BC.
The Elks have beaten all three of them this year.
I've come to the conclusion and I learned this early in my days doing football games that every game is important and you can't take anybody lightly and you have to be ready for every game no matter who you're playing.
And that's why, as Michael Riley taught me way back in the day, it's the most important game of the season because it's the next game.
And that's what the Elks are going through right now.
I mean, yeah, Saskatchewan coming up this week.
