And it's the plants, it's the trees that have actually put the oxygen in so that we could evolve.
We could not be here if it wasn't for the oxygen that those plants put into the atmosphere to allow us to take root and grow.
The magic of Australia here is...
that just over that ridge is a bunya pine.
That bunya pine has been growing continuously on the east coast of Australia, particularly around in the middle of the east coast of Australia, for 220 million years.
That tree up there is over the one millionth generation of continuous growth with very little evolutionary change
And that is not found anywhere else on this planet.
So all those conifers were growing here between 220, 240 million years up to 135 million years.
Now, think about it.
There were no birds, there were no bees, there were no rabbits, there were no kangaroos, there were no lizards, there was no fish in the sea.
These trees didn't evolve really all that much because there were no insects.
If these developed one that had a flower, then it wouldn't be fertilised because there were no bees, there was nothing to fertilise it.
Those conifers fed the dinosaurs and they saw the dinosaurs off.

Love to go and hug those trees.
These trees here have remained relatively unevolved.
