And then you have Zelensky, who doesn't want to give up an inch of territory here, but is probably willing to if he gets security guarantees, like he gets to be part of NATO, which means in the future, if Putin tries to invade Ukraine again and take even more territory, NATO would come to bail him out because he'd be part of the alliance.
