It was the way life was, and we thought it was always going to be like that.
Every week we were in a different city.
So we probably interviewed a thousand people and their cats.
It was the first gig where they were like, hey, we want you to do this.
And we're giving you like more money than you've ever had in your bank account to do it.
We did.
The microphone we were speaking into, we got on Who's Cat Wants to Be a Millionaire.
I was director, so I was mostly interviewing 1,000 people and their cats.
Yes.
It was basically to make sure that the people were kind of normal and that the cat wouldn't freak out.
And immediately it was insane.
This woman walked in with like little mice as earrings.
She had like two mice dangling.
And then the cat kept scratching her face because she had mouse earrings on it.
Honestly, I like talking to weirdos, so that piece of it was really fun.
It ended up being a game show, which was hosted by Chuck Woolery.
We were like, oh my gosh, we're going to actually buy gear.
It was really the thing that sort of launched us.
In my head, I'm like, oh, we're making these little documentaries, but really it was like shooting electronic press kits for them about events they had for this pet food company.
The New York Times reviewed the game show and they called it the end of Western civilization.
