Right.
And so you're taught, you absolutely, you do not ditch if you can land it, even if you're going to really hurt yourself.
But the reality is when you're actually under canopy and you're careening down and you got some stuff going on, you're probably going to ditch it.
Like that's the reality of it.
And so I remember there was one night where we did, it's called a,
a wall locker jump where you have like a hundred pounds of gear on and the stupid pack that you like dangle down by this long cord.
It's like, it's a, it's a joke.
It's what you would do with like a high altitude jump where you need, you need every piece of kit for every environment.
It's designed to be like, we're going to give you all the stuff and we're going to see if you can jump.
And so it's like really sketchy to land under the best of conditions.
You're an idiot.
And he, uh,
his shoot was all jacked up and like normally we have radios that once you're sort of low enough to the ground you can call it in and be like yeah i have an issue and we're in training
Doesn't call it in that he's got such, he can only turn the chute one way.
The other side is fully compromised.
And basically, the way skydiving or any parachute works is when you pull down on the toggles, it flares your parachute and you slow yourself down.
It's really similar to flying a plane, not that I've done it, but it's like flaring the wing slows you down.
And he basically couldn't flare his parachute.
And he's torching towards the ground.
