So that's just one big mega trend, I guess.
Another one that is really exciting is that AI is collapsing drug discovery timelines.
Yeah.
So companies are now using machine learning to identify drug candidates, and it's taking sort of 12 to 18 months rather than the pre-AI world where it would take sort of five to six years.
Currently, there are 173 AI-originated drugs in clinical development globally, and that's up from just 24 in late 2023.
The real proof of concept of this was a drug called Halicin.
It's an antibiotic.
It was discovered by MIT researchers in 2020.
Well, sorry, no, I should say it was discovered by AI trained by MIT researchers in 2020.
And it's become a powerful new antibiotic and real proof that AI...
has a certain skill set here that is valuable.
Yeah.
So that's about discovering new drugs and that part of the process.
What's been really exciting for biotech researchers, but I guess for everyone, is that AI's hit rate is also really good, much better than humans.
When AI-designed drugs enter trials, and this is for phase one trials, they're showing an 80% to 90% success rate
