Honestly, to your question, Dan, I honestly think this is mind games being played perfectly well by Arteta.
Because we had all of this very early on in the season, last season from Arteta.
Everything that marginally could have been interpreted otherwise, he was shouting from the rooftops about.
Nadam mentioned the West Ham game where he had a decision go strongly in his favour.
The other that comes to mind is right-hand ball against Chelsea.
Again holding, I can't remember who the player was.
The only thing was Chelsea scored from the resulting corner.
So it didn't become an issue.
So what you see is
Arsenal later on in the season, because of Arteta and all the noise he made early on, get the benefit of the doubt later on.
And it sees them over the line.
Had Arsenal, I can't remember if it was a draw or lost to West Ham in that circumstance, that really would have put the cat amongst the pigeons in the running.
Now, so to Arteta's point, he is, I think he's kind of putting the referees under pressure in the expectation, given what happened last year, that they'd get all the benefits of all the doubt later on in the season when it really, really matters.
Who's the mind games for?
The referees.
To that point, you criticise Javier Alonso if Chelsea aren't organised defensively.
But...
Those goals, the second in particular that everybody's touched on, for me, that's not about Xavi Alonso.
That's about the most basic of defending.
