Well, for my next story, I'm sticking with a theme of finding ways to communicate without words.
Imagine having an emergency, an accident perhaps, or being the victim of a crime.
Think about how you would alert emergency services.
Now, ask yourself, how would you do that if you couldn't talk?
Well, here in the UK, there are a few ways.
There is a text message service.
And two years ago, another service was introduced for deaf users to request a sign interpreter.
But there's also a third alternative as well.
It's called TextMessage.
TapSOS, and it's the world's first smartphone app that's connected to emergency services.
It was created by Becca Hume from the company Includec, and I spoke to Becca down the line from Northern Ireland.
Just looking at the app now, and I'm pretty sure I pressed the practice button.
One of the things it asks immediately is for your location and what you need, which I think is quite key.
There are four options here, all visual.
There are these police, an ambulance, fire and rescue or coast guard.
And you do have the words themselves, but all of these are images.
